After further investigation, I am farily confident that the Dell 3100cn is a Xerox C525A.  Still looking for the service manual.

Search online for Xerox C525A service manual...it is the same printer under a different name and this manual is available.

I got 016-302 on my Dell 3110.  Reported after someone installed a Black Toner Cartridge.

Swapped the spent toner back in, no change.

In my case, the printer worked fine, until a network print job was sent to it.  With the network cable unplugged, we could print test pages and printer setting pages through the OSD menus.

I have 16 of these printers so I decided to swap out with a known good.  Interestingly, I got the same error; even though the known good printer was working where I pulled it from.

I swapped out the power cable; as it looked pinched, possibly from closing the printer after installing the toner cartridge, and the printer pushed back against the chord/wall after years of this.  But swapping this resulted in no change.

I swapped out the network patch cable; and the issue resolved.

So, in short, I would suggest this issue 016-302 can be the result of a network connection issue, either in the patch cable, or in-house wiring.

Hi,

I too have a 3100cn, which has been wonderful for years, but one particular .pdf file triggers that 061-302 restart error. The User Manual doesn't even mention this error code, much less what to do about it. If there is a service manual that is helpful, I would love to get ahold of it.
