Dell 5100cn not working correctly
We have a Dell 5100cn printer already set up in an office building and are using it as a temporary workspace. Nearly every computer connected to the network, but one, are unable to print from it correctly. When attempting to print from it, it begins to print multiple pages, full of mixed up characters.
I am using a WIndows 7 64-bit computer. The CD for the printer is not available to us, and I've tried multiple times to install the driver. When using the "add a printer" feature on Windows 7, it detects the Dell 5100cn, but does not have Dell as a manufacturer in the driver list, so it tried to use a driver from Brother, rendering the downloaded Dell 5100cn driver useless. How do I go about fixing this?

Let's try changing it to another driver. Right click on the installed printer and open printer properties. On the advanced tab, click the new driver button. Since you are on windows seven, you should be able to use the windows update button on that page and it will get all of the windows approved drivers available on the list for you after about 5 minutes. Look through the Dell drivers for the 5100cn and complete the install.
