Dell 968W AIO printer compatability with Windows 10
Just upgraded to Windows 10 and printer won't work. I followed printer driver removal and re-install recommended by Dell an forum posts from late last year. Tried to install both Win 7 & Vista drivers with no success. When attempting to run, the unzip procedure failed. I see that other forum users with similar issue eventually had success. Can anybody tell me where I might be going wrong? Is this printer functional with Win 10?

Edgar1,
From the Announcement at the top of the page, Windows 10 Compatibility with Dell Printers
Dell suggests...
Installing Older Windows Printer Drivers in Windows 10
Try this procedure and see if the printer installs.
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode you’ll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time (powered on).
Links to the drivers can be found at…
Dell 968 & 968w All-In-One Printer owners thread (W7)
Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

Rick K, Thanks for the info. I followed your uninstall procedure and then downloaded the 32 bit driver from your link. The file unzipped & ran. When test page option popped up it would not print. I continued with the set-up but it froze up on the "updating your system" page and would not finish. I uninstalled this driver and tried the 64 bit in compatibility mode. Could not even get it to unzip. Gave me a message saying no output file could be generated. Ay ideas to help me out?

Edgar1,
Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER and post the information back here. This was I can see if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.
Also provide the virus program and firewall you're using.
I downloaded R241825 (Vista 64-bit drivers) and was able to unzip the file using 7-Zip
I then right clicked in setup.exe, left clicked properties, compatibility and was able to select Vista Service Pack 2 Compatibility mode to install the drivers.
R241344.exe (Vista 32-bit drivers) also downloaded and was unzipped using 7-Zip.

Not savvy enough to print out my system information but here is what I see:
- Windows 10 home version
- system is 64 bit , x64 based processor (Dell)
- using Norton 360 antivirus software. Windows firewall is being managed by Norton AV software.
- I have not downloaded any special zip applications
When I ran the 32 bit driver, I just hit run after Norton had scanned the file. In unzipped & ran but stalled out after the "test page" screen and wouldn't finish.
When I ran the 64 bit driver I tried downloading the file & running it in the compatability mode. Got the the output file error message when trying to unzip. Also tried just running after Norton scan an got the same error. Let me know if you need more detail.
Since my system is 64 bit, does that mean that the 64 bit drive is the proper one?

Edgar1,
64-bit system, 64-bit drivers. You should be able to double click on the drivers to install.
Try reading...

I have got the same issue with my Canon Pixma G 2000 after the update the system with windows 10, the printer is not working. I have consulted with the canon printer repair and they suggested me to reconfigured the settings after that it was working properly.
