Dell AIO 942 HELP!!! PLEASE!!

This printer will not print. I load the paper and it says ERROR: Load paper...so I push the paper down more and it says ERROR: Paper Jam...but there is no paper jam. The paper has gone through a couple times, but instead of taking just one piece of paper it takes the whole stack, which doesn't jam it either. Please help!! Could it be a loose wheel or something? Would it have anything to do with the ink cartridges being old? I have had this printer since 2004 and it has only been used once...same cartridges that I originally had are still in there.
