Dell Photo AIO 922

Question

After 2 weeks of trying to get this thing working - getting an error message that it cannot automatically align the cartridges - talking to the 'support' technicians, getting new ink cartridges shipped to me (left in the snow by DHL), and now waiting a week for a new printer to be built let alone to arrive at my home, I am returning my Dell printer!  I was told by the first technician that sometimes you can't align the cartridges and it is ok as long as it is printing.  This is a brand new printer and I should not be receiving error messages!  Give me a break!  No one else has been able to assist in getting this error fixed.  I went out and bought an HP for $125 for a printer, scanner, copier and fax all-in-one.  Much better support when the store you buy it says that if I have problems I can contact them directly and they will assist me as well as HP Support!  What a world of difference.  I run a business out of my home, it is month end, I need to get invoices out to my customers to show them good customer support and I can't wait for Mr. Dell to get his head out of his behind and decide that he needs to fork out a little dough to get some good service and systems available to his customers.  And speaking of invoices, I have requested more than 3 times for copies of my invoices to be sent to me and still have not received them!  What an absolute joke!  Don't get me wrong - so far I like the system, but the printer and support leave a lot to be desired!  BEST ADVICE I HAVE FOR ANYONE NEEDING TO BUY A PRINTER - BUY AN HP!!!  Dell isn't worth the headache!  :smileymad:

Until the ink gets flowing good from a new ink cartridge, you will get the 'can't align' message, but if it is printing ok, the carts. are aligned. I also have the 922 and I print thousands of pages per month, all perfect. I also print hundreds of 8x10 color photos per month, all perfect. I also refill my ink cartridges a dozen or more times before replacing them which saves 90% of the cost of ink. When this printer finally dies, I also will probably get a different brand printer. But I will have more than gotten my moneys worth from this one.

i am having all the same problems with my 922. i have tried several times to align the carts, with no luck. the auto alignment does not work. also the printer keeps saying that i need to remove the clear tape from the cart, im am positive that i have done so. i have had the printer for about 2 weeks and have printed about 10 pages, i am on my second batch of very exspensive ink carts. i cannot get a hold of anyone at dell to help me, they send me in huge circles, its a waist of time. i would not suggest a dell printer to anyone. i am going to purchase another brand that i can buy ink carts for at any store.

Hello, would you happen to know if the A960 also can use refilled ink and, if so, how to go about doing that? Thank you for any info you can provide.

You can refill almost any inkjet printer cartridge. There are many different brands of refill kits. I use both Universal and I-Print brands of refill kits. They are available at Walmarts, Targets, K-Marts, and hundreds of other discount and dept stores. They cost between $8.00 and $14.00 and refill your carts approx 4 times. Follow the instructions for Lexmark carts which are inside the box.
