First try running Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer.

Download the XP 64-bit drivers.

Install the XP 64-bit drivers in the Compatibility mode. You get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)

When you changed your computer, if this was a Dell computer, did you install the drivers in the correct order?

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Start, control panel, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

I recommend use the Vista 64-bit drivers in the Vista SP2 Compatibility mode

If using this printer wirelessly, if never setup before, choose network, new installation and follow the instructions. If printer was setup, choose additional computer, network and follow the instructions. I recommend using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

Just changed my computer to a 64 bit windows 7 and need to install the Dell Color Printer 725 but the supplied driver disk will not install.
