Driver for Dell AIO 926 - windows 8 - 64 bits

Hi all,

Since a few days, I have a new Dell Inspiron laptop. The OS on this laptop is Windows 8 -  64 bits.

As printer, I have a Dell AIO 926. I want to install the correct drivers, but I cannot find them. I want them, is that possible?

With kind regards,

CvVlas,

There are no Windows 8 drivers. This may or may not work.

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed.
Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 8 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 8 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).

Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications. If you did not install a virus program, then Windows Defender is the default. Try reading...

Hi CvVlas,

Dell 926 All In One Printer was not tested with Windows 8. Hence, the drivers are not available. Please refer Microsoft Windows 8 Compatibility with Dell Printers.

You may try to install the drivers available for Windows 7 in compatibility mode. It might help.

  • Download the driver from Here
  • Right Click the driver installation file and select Properties -- > Compatibility Tab.
  • Select Windows 7 from the list in the following image

  • Click Apply -- > OK
  • Right Click the file and select the 'Run As Administrator' to install the driver

Hope this helps.

Just to confirm, Rick's answer above worked for me, running 64-bit Windows 8.1.

Only remaining issue is an annoying popup following every print or scan, "Job Status Window Interface Has Stopped Working".  It comes up twice each time; I click "Close Program", and everything seems fine.  Looking now to see if there is a way of getting rid of these popups.  But Printing/Scanning works
