E525w Scan as a document?

Our E525w Color Multifunction Printer will only let us scan and save as a jpeg, gif, tiff, ping but not as an editable document.  Am I missing something from when we downloaded the software?

Thanks,

Jeff

Ewing Cem,

You may need to download Adobe PDF software. There is no Pdf program in the software.

I have Adobe Reader on the computer but  I can't save a scan as anything but the above mentioned formats.

Jeff,

I will admit, I don't know much about Laser printers.

When scanning a document, faxing, etc, using a Dell Inkjet printer, you need to have an Optical Character Recognition software installed. This reads the image and converts it. This software should be on the printer disk.

Some printers will populate the scan to list to scan to and other printers, you need to add the scan to a list.

Jeff,

The .pdf file type is available under the "Save Options" in the scan screen as shown below.

Hope this helps.

Hello Jesse,

I am hoping that you can offer some thoughts on this issue:

I own an E525W all-in-one (purchased in 2017; warranty expired in January '19) and I am having a patchwork pattern of vertical and horizontal lines appear on scans, as shown in the photograph attached below. I have tried the descreen setting and other options but to no avail. The unit is something of a power vampire, and it would appear as though the stepper motors that move the scanning platen are seeing a voltage fluctuation, resulting in the discontinuity in the image. Would one of those clamp-on ferrite ring core filters for the A/C supply line (see attached photo) correct the problem? Your reflections would be most appreciated. My firmware and drivers are all up to date.
