Getting error 4101 when installing Dell P703w to Inspiron 1525 notebook
Can somebody help me on this problem? The printer works fine. It prints okay from my desktop which means that it is connected to the network.

Hello Csar258,
At what point during the installation does this error appear? So you are connected wirelessly? If so, the installation must have passed previously for you to be connected to the network, right?
Please provide any more details that you may have.

Oh...I missed that you are trying now to install it on a notebook.
Anyway, please provide any other details and at what point during the installation this error appears.
Thanks,

csar258,
Yes, please provide more information. How are you connecting to the printer, USB Cable, wireless print server or using the wireless card in the printer? Make and model and operating system(s) of your computer(s) helpful.

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to connect wireless. This is a Dell wireless printer - P703w. I know that the printer is connected to my router wirelessly because I can print from my desktop wirelessly. The error occurs when running the install disk that came with the printer into my notebook.
Both desktop and notebook (inspiron 1525) run windows vista home premium and both connect to the internet through 802.11g router (mixed mode). The desktop, notebook and the printer are all Dell products. The router is linksys.
Am I doing something wrong?

csar258,
My suggestions would be to use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings in your wireless router. Since the desktop is not the issue, maybe you'd like to try this on the Laptop.
First, let's make sure your computer has the latest Windows Updates, especially .net framework, needed to run many applications and the latest Java.
Un-install the printer, then restart your computer.
Download the latest drivers
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit Drivers
64-bit Drivers

Choose your printer. Beneath your printer, select your operating system. You'll be redirected to another page. Then click on show all steps. It will walk you through the installation process.
