Hardware Error 0502

Question

Lately I can't seem to print a full page on my Dell Personal Printer AIO Printer A960. I keep getting Hardware Error 0502. I checked the cartridges and no sign of anything creating a cartridge stall. Any sugestions before I call Dell and complain?   Thanks Viva

This fixed it for me! Check out Spaceman2007's post here: http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=A940&message.id=13609 In a nutshell, if the printer sees too much resistance as the cartridges move back forth, you get the error. Here's the fix basically: Take some kleenex, and with power unplugged, clean the bar very well. Then Spray some WD-40 on a Kleenex, and lubricate the shaft!

I have gone through the same stuff with the A960. Hardware Error 0502. Cartridge Stall. Have cleaned printer carriers with alcohol. change cartridges, all the tech. stuff. filalilly got mad, physically opened top, grabbed the carrier slammed back and forth about 4 times. figured what the heck. it was not working any way. now it is working fine. for how long, who knows. Printer has been used heavily for about 3 years. We run a small business. Will run my stock of ink cartridges through and buy new printer.

Just letting everyone know what i did. Do not know if this will work for you. Could possibly screw up your printer.
