Lexmark Printer Issues

I am getting 2 different error messages. 1 when I try to use my printer says the spool services is not running. When I click yes it does not start. 2 When I have taken the printer completely out of my computer ands reinstalled uit. I get the message that my RPC server is unabled. What can I do to resolve these issues?

Hello,

Going by the problem that you have mentioned, I would give the steps one by one.
The first problem:
For the spoolers services not running, follow the below steps. This is usually caused by DEP(data execution prevention) blocking the spoolsv.exe executable file.

-- Disconnect the usb cable. Use the stalled print wizard to delete any documents pending in the queue.
--Uninstall the printer completely by using the uninstaller from All programs
-- Reboot the system in safe mode (restart and keep tapping F8 select safe mode from the list and press enter)
-- Navigate to C:\Program Files(x86)\ (V dell printer-Model),C:\Program Files\(V dell printer-Model) and delete that folder
--  Navigate to C:\Dell\Driver\(V printer Model) and delete that Folder
--  Delete the spool folder contents ( Note: Never Delete the Entire Spool folder  )
--  Reboot the system in Normal mode
--  Go to Programs and Features in Control panel > click Turn Windows features on or off
--  click the + sign of Print services
--  Put a check beside LPD and LPR. Click on OK. It will take time for the config change to complete and it will go back to programs and features.  Click “Turn Windows features on or off” again.
Click the + sign of Print services
Uncheck Internet Printing Client. > restart your PC to ensure there is no error of spooler service.

 --Restart your PC.
--Re-install the printer drivers afresh ( Suggested- Please download the latest drivers from http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/NeedProductSelection?
put in the service tag of the printer and download the drivers.)

You may also refer the following link for the issue.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/printer-problems-in-windows

 The Second Problem:

We need to enable the services from the Command Promt.
-- Click start.
-- In Search program and files tab type in CMD.
-- Open the CMD by right clicking and selecting run as administrator.
-- Type in the following command:
sfc /scannow (there is a space between sfc and /scannow)
-- Press Enter.
That would activate all the services.
-- Restart the computer.
Check if the issue is resolved. In case of any further queries please reply to the post, I’d be glad to help you further.

sgrobison,

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Start, control panel, programs and features, your Lexmark printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Insert the printer disk or install the drivers from Lexmark's website. Install the drivers, you'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.
