Linux Drivers for Printer Model 720?

So far, Dell has completely ignored all requests for a Linux driver for this printer. This seems incredibly odd since they now sell Linux servers. I guess they think nobody has EVER needed to print something from their server--go figure that one out.

I have tried a suggestion to use the Linux driver for a Lexmark model on the Dell printer without success.

Since I'm using Fedora Core 3 more than Windows these days, this printer is becoming increasingly useless. Every day, more and more folks are switching to free, reliable, virus proof operating systems. Maybe the hardware companies are stuck with contracts that stifle free trade.

I'll certainly save a pile of money on Dell ink refills if things stay this way.

Well, they do provide Linux drivers for some Dell printers. I can't figure out why not this one.

Actually, I have dual operating systems on this computer, Windows 2000 Pro and FC3.

I solved this problem (along with the problem of inkjets in general) by buying a Konica Minolta magicolor 2430 DL. It is fully Linux compatible. Sorry, Dell.
