Need help with resolving Dell photo 926 printer error message

my dell photo 926 printer displays "paper jam" message, there is no visible paper jam. HELP!

Hi dreed7187,

Try the below mentioned steps to fix the paper jam problem:

  1. Turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord, adapter from the printer, press and hold the power button on the printer for 20 seconds. This will remove the static power from the printer.
  2. Clean any dust particles surrounding the paper sensor/ paper path.
  3. Load a smaller amount of paper when printing multiple pages (use only new, unwrinkled paper).
  4. Adjust the paper guides to hold the paper firmly.
  5. Now try to print the document and check.

To prevent jams, ensure the following:

  • Place the printer on a flat, level surface.
  • Use paper recommended for inkjet printers.
  • Do not force the paper into the printer.
  • Do not load too much paper.
  • Check and adjust the paper guides as necessary to make sure they rest against the edges of the paper.
  • Select the correct paper type and size.

 If the problem persists, then the printer needs to be replaced.

Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. This will reset any error messages the printer is getting.

 

Look in the area of the paper tray and use a vacuum cleaner to make sure nothing is there.
