Why not replace the Son-In-Law and the printer! :smileywink:

Go to control panel, printer and faxes.

Right click on the printer, left click on printing preferences. Uncheck the box, print in Black & White.

That should do it, unless the cartridge was sitting there for a long period of time. Click on Matience and then click on align print cartridges and see what you get. If you don't get any color, you can try soaking the color cartridge for 10 minutes in a shallow pan of warm water and then dab dry and try again. If still no results, then you may need to purchase a new Series 1 ink cartridge. They can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website. Dell ink cartridges cannot be refilled. They have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.

I need help!!!!

My printer will not print color. I checked the properties to make sure the settings were correct, I cleaned all the parts in the printer and I put a new color cartridge in. I also disconnected the cables and still it only prints in black. Any other suggestions?

 sdantone,

Make and model of your printer is helpful.

Start, control panel, printers, your printer, printer preferences, advanced, more options. Make sure the complete-a-print boxes are not checked. Also check to make sure the print in black and white box is not checked.

Are you using Dell Series ink cartridges, refilled cartridges or generics brand cartridges?
