Printing Garbled Text

Hello all-
My printer is printing out either missing or very light words/letters randomly. It's 1710, and it's hardly being used.
Thanks.

Hi

u could try manually re-setting the factory defaults by following the steps below :

power printer off
open front door
hold down the continue and the cancel buttons together and power back on at the same time
when the error light is solid, close the front door.

See if that makes a difference to the garble.

Thank you so much for your response. I tried that and didn't make any difference. I opened up, took out the toner cartridge, and cleaned all the areas including the roller.  I think it's better, but it's not totally gone.
Thanks again.

ok.....np.

sorry it didn't fix the issue . . .  if it's a Dell toner, i might try another brand new one, to rule out something faulty with the existing one....they should be covered under warranty... an order # would be helpful.

otherwise, if it's a non-Dell toner, it might be best to try one purchased from Dell.....

good luck.
