Usually a pattern of repeated dots down a page indicates a defect on one of the rollers in the printer. If you know the distance it takes for the pattern of dots to repeat you can narrow it down to a specific component. Without a lot of information about the color or spacing, the most likely candidates are the drum and the fuser.
