Problem printing booklet on Dell 5110cn with Adobe InDesign CS1

This may be a very esoteric question, but I have searched the web and the forum without finding an answer, so I will ask it here.

I am trying to print a booklet on duplex letter-size pages that are folded in half to form a 5.5x8.5 booklet. No matter what I do, double-page spreads are missing a 0.33" band down the middle, which works out to 0.16" inches on the inside of each page and the margins on the outside appear to be about that much more than they should be.

Here are my settings:

* InDesign document setup as "Letter-Half" with Width=33p0 and Height=51p0

* InDesign margin setup as Top=Bottom=Inside=Outside=3p0 with only 1 column

* InDesign print setup Scale Width=100% and Height=100%

* Dell 5110cn preferences Margin Letter Left=Right=Top=Bottom=0.00inch

* Dell 5110cn booklet Half Letter-->Letter (auto) gutter=0

Any ideas?

I figured it out and it's weird enough that I thought I would post it in case someone else has the same problem. I specified a gutter of 4mm (.1 inch was too little and .2 inch was too much) and it worked perfectly! It doesn't make any sense to me either.
