Problem with Multiple Image Photo Scans DELL 922 All in One to JASC 4 Software Bug / Feature?
I have posted this both inthe Graphic's Board and in the Printer's Board
Have a new dimension 8400. Trying to use the Scanning mutiple pages or images feature as discribed on page 31 of the DELL-All-In-One Printer Manual Model 922. One Images works fine, but I cannot scan greater than one image in doing mutiple scans, only the first scan will be saved when you exit into the JASC Photo 4 software. I would think DELL / JASC would have tested this. It a usability issue.... I can aquire each image one by one using he AQUIRE function of the JASC 4 software and go one by one . This is painfully slow and you have to reset the DELL Scanner settings every time!. A simple save scanner settings would be of great value!
Have I found a bug or a new feature or both? Not sure if this a problem with the ALL-IN_ONE Software or the JASC 4 Photo Software. Tech Support is asking me to ship back the scanner/printer?????. Everything else is working fine. I have re-installed the printer drivers and software post my sucessfuly SP2 migration but the problem is still there. I don't know if the problem exsisted pre SP2 and am not backing out SP2 to find out.
Anyone else having this same problem or know a work around.
Anyone got this working with some other software?
Would be great of a DEL Moderator see this and get's this confirmed in DELL testing!
I have even tried the JASC 4 upgrade from JASC. No Luck!
Help and thanks. I will post anything I learn.

Some more info.... today I downloaded a vesion of ADOBE PhotoShop Album 2.0 EVAL and the same problem. Infact worse you must close the ADOBE software each time for even one image to be transfered and Batch Transfer does NOT work. This would suggest "I am not the expert" that there is some sort of timming bus problem with the Dimension 8400 sending data to other applications and or a problem with the ALL-IN-ONE Software and 922 Printer/Scanner application.
Going to push this one hard with DELL Tech support given the debugging I have done on this.

I'm curious what resolution you are trying to scan at, and how much RAM you have on you're PC? The AIO Center will start to crop images if the resulution is too high and not enough ram on the PC, or stop all jobs until the ram is flushed.
An example is trying to scan an image at 9600DPI with 512 megs of RAM will result in about a quarter of the page actually scanned. The same might also apply to multiple images?
Just a thought ... let me know!

Finally getting back to update this one... cased down Corel inc to get the answer..... Dell Tech wanted me to return the Printer Scanner
Bottom Line needed feature software does not support. No Looking for a graphics, photo software that easily supports mutiple scans. Adobe Photo album does not work as well.

Hi,
Paint Shop Photo Album isn't able to process multiple scans. You will need to use the scanner software to send the images to a different program other than Paint Shop Photo Album.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.
