Problems with printing with Windows 7 and Dell wireless adapter 3300
I just purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and since then I have two problems:
(1) Even though I can print to my Dell Photo 964 if connected directly to my computer, I cannot print through my wireless adapter (Dell 3300).
(2) I can't print web pages.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks.

Printer is on. All three lights are on.
Sounds like you are suggesting that I start all over again. Ugh...
I am afraid if I make a new network my other two computers in the house which currently make a wireless connection to the internet and do print wirelessly won't work anymore.
What is the chance that will happen?

All of a sudden I can't print anything now. No web pages. No Quicken. No pdf files.
I guess my 10 year old computer wasn't so bad after all. A little slow, but at least I could print from it.
How frustrating!!!

dawgsrock,
All three lights are green. No need to set it up again.
On the problem computer, try these tweaks...
Start, control panel, device manager.
Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.
Go to each USB Root Hub and right click on it, left click properties, left click power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Restart your computer.

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

dawgsrock,
Just this one computer is having these issues, correct?
Do you have the exception in the virus program and Windows firewall?
Make and model of the problem computer and operating system. 32-bit or 64-bit?

Computer that is having problems is Windows 7. The other two laptops that run Windows XP can print wirelessly.
I have AVG anti-virus which I can only shut off for a period of up to 15 minutes.
I seem to have read while installing one of these drivers that it will get past the firewall when installed.
Should I re-install something and turn off AVG and disable the windows firewall beforehand?

I uninstalled the printer. I made sure the AVG antivirus was disabled. I disabled the Windows firewall. I reinstalled the wireless adapter driver and firmware. I reinstalled the printer.
Sometimes you can see the page being sent to the printer and you can see it in the printer queue but it stacks up there and never prints. Other times I get the usual "Communication not available".
The computer says the printer is off-line.

dawgsrock,
Personally, I would uninstall AVG, then restart your computer. Try installing the printer from scratch, just on the problem computer. If it installs and works, the AVG is blocking the communications. I haven't used AVG for years. Had problems with email program and AVG and it also left some bad items get into my computer. I currently use FREE Avast Home Edition
Start, control panel, printers, your Dell 964 printer, right click, make sure it's online and then left click properties, advanced. I found this old picture. Make your settings match.

dawgsrock,
Your Dell Inspiron 620 is a desktop, correct? Did this come with Windows 7 64-bit or did you upgrade it? If you installed Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) did you install the desktop/notebook utility and the chipset drivers first? If not the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order If you cannot find Windows 7 drivers, then try using the Vista (or XP) 32-bit drivers, for Windows 7 32-bit of the Vista (or XP) 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit and install the drivers in the Compatibility mode
I was thinking you might be having issues with the Dell Download Manager, since it states, the driver was not installed. How to by-pass the Dell Download Manager, the use Internet Explorer and download the drivers in your browser.
The Vista 64-bit drivers will install in the Vista(I used Vista SP2) Compatibility mode
I would like it very much if you could provide the Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and post the rest of the information back here. If the operating system is in another language, the drivers need to match the operating system on the computer.
The Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3300 works with no security, WEP Security and WPA-PSK (TKIP) Security (Personal) ONLY.

How do I do this?
" Go into your browser settings and delete all Dell cookies (or clear all your browser cache). "
