Scanner function on v313 printer

I have a question about the scanner function on my Dell v313 printer.  I just installed this printer on a wireless network with a Dell laptop, and for printing, it works fine.

However, the scanner function isn't working, either through pressing the scan button on the printer or trying to go through Dell Printer Home.  Neither the "scan to PDF" button or "settings/scan destination" buttons on Dell Printer Home do anything.

In addition, when I try to use the "scan to network" function on the printer, it says its downloading applications, and then (after a while) has a message that it can't access the applications.

Please help!  Would really like to use the function.
