Setting SNMP community string on a Dell M5200 printer

Does anyone know how to change the default SNMP community string from public? A security policy requires the SNMP community string be changed to a more secure name.  The default of public is not acceptable by the US ARMY. I have called support but NO ONE there has a clue.

Thanks,

I am unable to telnet into the Dell M5200 Laser printer.  The connection is refused.

Download MarkVision Professional from www.lexmark.com, install it, then in the list of the printers in the network find the one you need, in Settings menu choose Network and then TCP/IP, there you'll see the community name field.

Thanks,

That software package did the trick.

I'm glad it helped.
Just for your information, this software is pretty powerful tool for managing your network printers.
