Standard TCP/IP vs DL DPU

Hopefully someone can answer why Dell uses a DL TCP/IP DPU Port, if it is required over a Standard TCP/IP Port, and what the advantages might be. I am going to deploy my printers via a batch script that installs the port/printer, but the way I have always done it in the past creates a Standard TCP/IP port.

a standard tcp/ip port will work perfectly fine. the dpu port is something that the dell in staller uses. but you can use a standard port and it will work. and there is no advantage going one way over the other
