I have the same problem with every machine that has the Dell Status Monitor software installed. It creates a real pain if you have the need to restart machines remotely, because when you issue the restart, you lose connectivity, but the computer is hung on asking if you want to end the process. Dell apparently doesn't have a fix... I haven't found evidence that they are even aware of the obvious problem!!!

I too couldn't figure out where to remove the software, but the executable process is DLPSP.EXE - you can find this either in the registry where it is loading in currentversion\run and delete it from there... also make sure it is not loading in your startup items. That way, the stupid process isn't running, and doesn't cause your machine to hang! You can always start the app and then end the process manually if you need it, but I haven't found a real functional use for it considering the consequences!!
