Trouble installing software for Dell 2335dn
Hi all, hope somebody out there can help me with this strange problem I am having. My company aquired a 2335dn several months ago to replace an 1815. Although the software was different that what I had used previously, I had no issues getting several of my employees connected to it so they can print, scan, etc. But something now won't work. I have to connect a new employee to the printer and the software won't find the printers IP address on the network. All the other users can still do everything. I can ping it, I can get into it's built in web server to configure it, etc. Yet, when I run the setup of the software it gets to the point where it needs to find the IP address and it can't find it. The printer has a static IP address (llike all network printers should).
I've tried the orginal CD that came with the printer and two downloaded versions from Dell. I've even upgraded the firmware. Thinking that maybe it's the computer I'm trying to install the software onto, I've now tried a few other computers and getting the same result. I'm not a newbie to installing computers, et al, but this has really got me stumped.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you in advance.

That post was almost a year ago and I still have not found the answer myself. I did however, find a way to print to the printer via the network. I manually installed the printer drivers, like what one would do for installing an old LPT laserjet or something. I also installed the scaning software manually, but can't get it to communicate. So for now, all I can do it print, but cannot scan.
