V505 Dell Imaging Toolbox Windows 7 RC1 X64 Problem
Hi All.
I have recently upgraded my laptop from Vista X64 to Windows 7 X64. Under Vista I used to get an error message at start up that said the .NET framework had perfomed an illegal operation, however everything worked ok and I could print, fax and scan as required.
Under Windows 7 X64 I get the following error on start up
.NET Framework 2.0 is part of windows 7 and cant be installed seperately. I have tried running dell imaging toolbox under all the compatibility modes, and as administrator all with no sucess.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

go HERE to get net framework 2.0 did you look in control panel programs to see if it is installed?
You can have different versions of netframework running at the same time.

Thanks for the suggestion Dave but........
1 You linked to the 32 bit version, I'm on a 64 bit OS
2 I'm running Windows 7 X64, which already has .NET 2.0 built in , so I cant install the 64 bit version either, even though it isn't listed in control panel.
Your sig says your running win 7 x64, do you have .net 2.0 showing in your control panel?
I've discovered that if I run frun.exe from c:\program files(x86)\dell v505, the imaging toolbox actually runs ok although it still gives the .NET 2.0 framework error.
The exe that causes the error is c:\program files(x86)\dell v505\app4r.exe

Dave, you can't install .NET 2.0 on windows 7 and you can't install the 32 bit version on a 64 bit system.
Perhaps I should have said any sensible suggestions.

Try running the program in compatibilty mode of vista sp1
and for the recored you can install 32 bit drivers and software on a 64 bit system I do it all the time.

.NET 2.0 Framework WILL NOT install on Win 7 x32 or x64. Try it for yourself if you don't belive me.
You are correct that you can run 32 bit software (applications) on a 64 bit system but you can not use 32 bit drivers.

Then it is not compatible with windows 7 and since it is a beta product there will more than likely not be any Dell support untill it is fully realeased and that is a maybe too

I have been having the same issue and I was wondering if you ever found a solution. When I initially installed the printer (v305 with dell imaging toolbox) onto my computer I got the error, and after downloading every possible version of .net framework 2.0, stumbled upon a forum that linked me to the correct download. I recently had to uninstall the printer because it stopped connecting wirelessly when I changed the router. When I re-installed, I started getting the error again and can't open the imaging toolbox.
Every forum/blog I've checked just says that i have .net framework 3.5 which has 2.0 or other unhelpful information so I am hoping you have figured out a solution?

SpEddie23,
You upgraded to Windows 7 correct?
Is this a Dell computer?
