V725W Printer Stand alone copy and scan problems

Question

Somehow my printer just stopped working altogether. Deleted printer and drivers and reinstalled several times.

Finally updated Java and printer will print test page from computer as well as any documents from computer.

However, when I try to stand alone copy something the panels states copy to memory and freezes.

Also even though I have reinstalled drivers and printer the scanner is not installed. Have tried to reinstall individually and it still will not recognize.

Does anyone know how to fix these errors?

Printer should be able to copy a document, no computer needed.

To scan a document, the OCR Program needed to be installed from the printer disk.

Thanks Rick.  I have tried all of your suggestions.  When trying to copy (stand alone) the panel shows copy to memory 100% and then freezes.  Is this just a glitch or should I now try a factory reset?  Thank you so much for helping.

If you cannot use the printer as a stand alone copying machine, then it is something with the printer. I would uplug the printer from the wall, then remove the power brick for 60 seconds.

This resets any error messages the printer is getting. I would also reseat the Dell Series ink cartridges. Not sure if your printer has the same lip the other Dell V Series ink cartridges has but it may help.

There was an issue with Windows 7 and the other Dell V Series printers. Are you using Windows 7?

Also what virus program and firewall are you using?
