The most helpful thing you could do would be to post sample pages of the print defects in the same orientation as you would view them. There are several sites from where you can host the pictures (i.e., Flickr ) or just reply with the link where you stored the pictures.

obtw, max width allowed on this forum is 460pixels.

I will do that and get back to you with the location. Thank you for your response!

Okay, I have uploaded 3 pictures to Flickr. My account is tvd1204. Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks!

Instead of accessing your account, if you could right-click each of the images then click properties, copy/paste the properties for each image into your reply. That way I don't have to mess withh your account..... which I really don't want to do.

Here you go:

magentatest5100

cyantest5100

5100orig

The first picture is the magenta test page with a solid vertical line. The second is the cyan with a line but fainter. The third is the original document when we first saw the line. The yellow test page prints fine, no line. We have replaced the toner cartridges in the cyan, magenta and yellow.

Thanks again for your assistance!

OK..... another question, plus my interpretation of your problem.

How did you create images 1 & 2 ?

(are these the output of the 20% density test pages?)

The problem.

I blew up the magenta image and it appears the vertical line (actually, this is called a vertical deletion) may be caused by an absence of toner transfer from the developer mag roller onto the primary drum of your Drum unit.

Pull out the Drum unit and examine the developer roller. Do you see a "bald" spot on the magenta roller in the same approximate horizontal position as that on the paper? If so, you need a new developer unit. The toner/developer mixture is clogging behind the metering blade (a.k.a., doctor blade) and rubbing that area of the mag roller clean.

There doesn't appear to be much of an issue with the Cyan color unless this is causing color print issues. It really isn't that bad if this is the 20% density page.

You are correct, those first 2 are the 20% density page. We will check that developer roller tomorrow. Thanks again for your time and assistance.
