Why can't I print from my computer?

I've tried every Help & Troubleshooting option from both Dell and Microsoft.  The printer (Dell Photo 944 All-in-One) prints its own test page, copies, etc.  However I cannot get anything printed from the computer - either .doc or from internet.  I've reset, uninstalled/reinstalled, changed the cable, done all the on/off/unplug options.  The problem seems to be that no print signal is reaching the printer from the computer  (Dell Dimension E510 Desktop).  Also - nothing appears in the printer queue as far as document waiting to be printed.

What should I try next?

Thanks

Have you tried hooking it up to another computer to see if it will printer from another computer? I don't remember offhand, is it USB only or USB and Centronics? If it is USB only, make sure you try multiple USB ports on your PC. If that doesn't work make sure that you try a different USB cable. If it is centronics as well, get a standard printer cable and see if it will print that way. You didn't state, so I'm guessing that the printer was properly detected and properly loaded the drivers when it was connected? If none of the above work, then it does appear that you may have a bad port on the printer that is not receiving data and the printer may need to be replaced.
