dell photo 966 no longer scanning and saving to new laptop, Latitiude E6430 on windows 7

recently bought new Latitude and for the last few months i have been able to scan documents. yesterday it stopped scanning and i have tried several solutions with no success. I have received several error messages including the latest:

Message on laptop - A problem prevented the document from being scanned. please try again, or for troubleshooting information, see etc. etc. 

Message from Scanner - Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000015). The device is not ready. 

please provide some further advice or perhaps remote in to help.

And, then download and install the drivers from the link below:
