error code 0502???

Question

what is the error code 0502 on the a960 printer? :smileymad:

error 502 is carrier stall.. try turning of your printer. unplug from teh power supply then push the power button for 10 seconds while its unplug. open up your printer and locate any obstruction on the cartridge carrier ..

if that that doesnt work try cleaning ur encoder strip it might be mis aligned!!!!!:smileywink:

try also cleaning the bar that serves as the track for the cartridge carrier. that worked for me before. :smileywink:

I have the same problem on my A940.   Problem: ink can get caked on the metal bar on which cartridges slide back and forth, causing Cartridge Stall hardware error 0502.  Solution:  dampen a soft clean cloth with water and rub it back and forth along the metal bar.  I then used a very small amount of WD-40, which I sprayed onto another piece of clean cloth, and rubbed it on the metal bar, hoping it would make it more slippery.  WORKS GREAT - no further error 0502 in several months!
