how to flash 1710

I have a Dell Laser 1710 (non-networked model) and want to know if it's possible to flash via the USB connect
iion?  I checked in the Dell local printer utility and didn't see anything in there.

The firmware I downloaded only mentioned instructions for the 1710n which wouldn't apply here.

Also what are the key combinations to do a hardware reset?  I have a 1710 that blinks even though I've replaced the imaging drum.

Thanks,

Just found out how to flash the firmware......

Do you have a parallel printer cable?
Unfortunately, that's the only "easy" way.

Of course, your computer will need to have a parallel port too.

Parallel port I have now the difficult part is locating one.  i find it weird they don't have a utility to flash via USB instead since that utility can configure the other settings on it.

Thanks,

I can answer one of your questions now......
When you rcvd the replacement drum, it should have come with an instruction sheet on how to reset the counter so you no longer see the "blinking" indicator.

Will look into your other question......
