v505w All-In-One - How do I take it apart? Dell will not provide a repair/parts manual.
How do I take the printer apart? I got a "cover open" message and inadvertently pulled out the ribbon cable that connects the cover to the body of the printer. The original problem was that the back of the cover wasn't flush with the glass and there seemed to be no way to push it down (it looks just like a couple of pegs that fit into a holes). Thank you.

All I can find is this User Manual but it doesn't discuss taking it apart.

I know! You would think they would at least have a parts manual - how do you order parts? Or I am just supposed to throw it away when I know I can save it if I just had the info? I hardly used it and less than three years old.

I gave up and bought a new 4-in-1 on sale for about $80. It does everything but nothing well so I would spend more money next time.

I had the same problem with the cover and discovered that the hinge was broken where the pin goes through on top! There is a screw in the back and just below the hinge that can be removed to remove hinge assembly!I removed the broken hinge and am able to close cover and use the printer! But I called Dell and they have no parts available for this printer! As far as your cable goes I did not have that issue,so I am not able to assist you in that area!

Hello.., I couldn't get to the screws very easily and the have some kind of non.backing out fins. So I took the spring out at least and the lid closed. But know I just here a knocking sound and will not fully load to print mode. Any suggestions and does the spring need to stay in?
Thanks. ~Sal
