Dell Datasafe Online - Getting message "Computer Not Online"
I have been using the Dell Datasafe service to backup my laptop and desktop computers for close to a year but noticed recently it was not performing the automatic backup. When I checked the settings it states "Computer Not Online".
This seems odd since the very computer I am getting this message is obviously "online". This message is appearing on both computers when I check the settings. It just started doing this and never had this problem before. I have Norton 360 on both computers as well and I also started get a warning it is not a secure website when I try to open the Dell Datasafe service. Could this have something to do with the message I am receiving?

The DataSafe subscription expires after 1 year if you don't pay for renewal. Could that be the problem? Make sure you have an another backup set up like Windows 7 Backup and Restore where you control the backups and system images--saved on an external hard drive. <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

I've been trying to use Dell DataSafe Online since 8/28 and am now having the same problem you describe. My system hasn't been backed up for 2 weeks and has only had 6 successful backups in the month before. Aren't we supposed to be able to rely on our backup system? I have a brand new Dell system and have had to work with the Dell DataSafe Online support several times for nothing but extreme aggravation. It seems really odd that they'll work with me for an hour or more (not really knowing what they're doing), and then, this has happened at least 3 times, they'll say, "Oh, it's a problem with our website or server, try again after 24 (or more) hours". Shouldn't they know this at the beginning without wasting our time? The last time that this happened was three days ago, and they said it should be fixed by Monday, tomorrow. Does anybody know of any good, reliable online backup systems?

I tried backing up my computer by actually going through the launch command (Start>AllPrograms>Dell Datasafe Online) and that seemed to work. It had not been working when I clicked on the shortcut to launch the program off my desktop.

It still isn't working for me (and it's Monday, when I was told it would be fixed). If I try to go to Dell DataSafe Online from the Start menu, the log in doesn't work. It tells my my password is invalid. It's the same password that I use on the website, and it lets me log in there. It doesn't do any good though, because it still says "Computer Not Online".

I upgraded storage yesterday. Have not been able to access web site since then! Get " Problem loading page the connection to the server was reset while page was loading" error message. Tried multiple different links to sign on page with same result.
I tried Daniel's suggested fix...same error message.
It is just too exhausting to seek tech support.
Good news is my subscription will be up soon and can switch to a reliable source. This is not my first problem with this service.
