I have this same issue with a newly purchased Dell desktop. I installed MS Office Professional from the original installation disc, and got the 'mapi32.dll is corrupt or the wrong version' as soon as I tried to open Outlook for the first time.
Having read your (and other) posts on this topic, I tried both 'detect and repair' from another office program and reinstalling from the CD - but neither has cured the problem. I've also uninstalled the Office Basic 2007 which was preinstalled on the pc and tried both the above again with no success. To my knowledge there's no messaging software on the pc - it's brand new and the only things I've loaded are AVG and MS Office.
i just need help on getting rid of a problem. windows installer is trying to install Roxio Update Manager. it wants a disk that i dont have.How can i get out of this mess.it just keeps popping up. Can anyone help me. Thank you .
For Mapi32.dll error message follow the steps mentioned below.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Msmapi\1033 and you here find.. MSMAPI32.dll change it to msmapi32.old
For Roxio Update Manager Error message:
Go to add/remove programs and you wil find Roxio Update Manager and remove that particular program. When you remove it will not affect any other component of Roxio.
In this sphere exist many similar problems,but next tool in my opinion is one of the best-view outlook pst file,because when I was in difficult condition tool helped me and I am very grateful for it,in addition it is free to the best of me memory,tool can help to restore a mailbox,stored on Microsoft Exchange Server or a file with *.pst extension,tool belongs to programs that view .pst,it will process any file,it is safe to work even with damaged files,will perform necessary actions, you can see a preview window,that shows recovered folder tree and emails in a preview mode,can convert your file to a file with *.pst extension, that follows the original structure,viewing pst files without Outlook is not usually needed on a regular basis.
