How find address book in Outlook Express, Windows 98, 2nd edition?

Just bought a new Dell 2400, and want to use Outlook. But, can't seem to find the *.dbx file in my old Dell, that uses Windows 98, 2nd edition. Is it a hidden file? How can I copy it?

If that doesn't work, could I just take the *.wab file from the old Outlook Express (which I've found), and import it to Outlook 2003 in my new XP Professional 2400 Dell System?

Thanks for the help.

On your new Dell, open Files and Settings Transfer Wizard.  Create a floppy for the old computer.  On the old computer, run the floppy.  Choose CUSTOM box on bottom left corner when it's offered.  Then, eliminate every program from the list BUT OE and whatever else you want.  Then, run FAST on the new computer, pulling in the file you created.  All OE will be transferred.

Then, when you have OE working on the new computer, close it.  Open Outlook, and it will prompt you to transfer everything from OE to it.  Done.

kagey,

Unless you've moved the file store, your *.dbx files in Windows 98SE are at C:\Windows\Application Data\Identities\{...alphanumerics...}\Microsoft\Outlook Express. None of those folders is hidden. Copy the entire Outlook Express folder as import requires the presence of folders.dbx in the folder with the other .dbx files. The *.wab (C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book) can also be copied then imported on the new system.
