Unfortunately the nature of the project that I am involved in, causes me to seek data from several technical websites which are all using PDF files. I may just have to load the data manually.
Excel can import data directly from a web site. You'll find the feature under Data, Import External Data, New Web Query. You type the web address in the address bar, press Enter, then look for yellow arrows. Click one of the yellow arrows and select Import.
Hint: To maximize the web window, double click the Title Bar.
I like the "Smart PDF Converter" that you suggest because it states that it is Vista capable and carries the low price tag of $40.00 - first I will try the free trial to be sure I can handle it.

Not only is it the time to do it by hand, it's the accuracy.
Bob,
Please post again with feedback on whichever utility you decide to use.
