Microsoft PowerPoint

I just received my Dell laptop and I love it!  However, I feel kindof computer illiterate right now as to what programs I do have and don't have.  I want to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create a PowerPoint but I notice that the PowerPoint program I do have is called:  Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer.  I take it this is not the same program to use, obviously, to make a PowerPoint.

So...my question is:  Do I need to download/buy this program in order to create a PowerPoint?  OR is it somewhere on my laptop and I'm not finding it?

Anyone run into the same question, if so PLEASE HELP!

Much appreciated...thanks!  :-)

If you have the "Viewer", it's only what it says - it's a program to VIEW Power Point presentations, not a program to create them.  If you don't have PP you will need to purchase it as it's not a free download.
