Microsoft Works Word Processor

Hi everyone,  I recently bought a Studio 1555 and thought I have Microsoft Works installed, but when I open it I get error message Microsoft Works Font Cache has stopped working.  It gives me the box to search online for a solution, but says it cannot access one or more files to run.  I tried to open uninstall programs and just fix from the cd that came with the laptop and it doesn't work either.  After going through the process it said something about looking for more files.  The cd was never opened until now.  I know I have the trial version of Microsoft office 2007 but wanted to use Microsoft Works since it is supposed to be free.  The other parts of Works open except the Word processor portion.  Any clue as to how to fix?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Brenda

Some versions of Works also have MS Word for the wordprocessor and since you have the trial version of Office 2007 that may be interferring.  Uninstall the trial version of Office 2007 and that may take care of it.  If not, reinstall Works, assuming you have the install disc for Works (It's not on the Windows/Vista disc it would be a separate disc).

A good option, to get MS Office compatible programs, which are much better than the Works programs would be to download the free Open Office suite of programs that are comparable and compatible to MS Office.  www.openoffice.org
