Netscape Freezes - trying to replace I.Explorer

I'm trying to get rid of my security patched crummy Internet Explorer, but Netscape Navigator 7.1 is freezing my DellDim on a regular basis proving itself at least as worthless as the MicroSoft product. Is this a known issue or just another MicroSoft trick to maintain world domination?

I would be interested to hear experiences with other STABLE browsers. And no, I don't want to adjust any registry settings.
Thanks,
Finn

IE is part of Windows, not Office. Post this in your Windows forum. You can't get rid of IE, but you can use another browser like Mozilla. www.mozilla.com

Roger that Mary.
Thanks, I didn't realize this cancerous browser was welded to the OS. Yikes!

If you are using Windows XP, you should have SP1 installed.  SP1 adds options to make whatever browser, e-mail and media player you want the default.  Although you can't remove the Microsoft products they are not accessable.

However, there are millions using Internet Explorer and not having problems.  Most of the "security alerts" note potential "holes" but unless you allow your PC to be open to anyone and everything you are not really at risk.

Beside, I wouldn't knowingly use any AOL product, which includes Netscape.
