Outlook 2002 sending e-mail error.

Hey all, I'm getting this error when I'm trying to send e-mail through my domain ISP.  "Task 'domain - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' "

I've done a google search on this, and all I can find is to upgrade my Office program. Do you guys agree with this, or not?

Got the same error message 2 days ago when trying to send and receive e-mail using Outlook (all had worked well earlier in the day).   I was finally able to receive e-mail, but could not send (still got the same error message).  I eventually called my ISP (Earthlink), who confirmed that they were having e-mail server issues, and that there was nothing wrong with my program or configurations.  Within 24 hours everything was back to normal.
