I have an Inspiron 4000 with works suite 2001.  I recently installed an HP 2410 photosmart  printer - fax -scanner.Now when I try to use Picture It Publish It I get an error message -" PIP has caused an error in msvcrt.dll" PIP will now close.  Also the same message with kernel32.dll.  Please help

Hello FD ! I had that same problem and was told to disable my anti-virus script blocking while using PIP. However, you must enable it immediately after using PIP. Script Blocking is preventing the language used by PIP(.VBS) from running. I assume that you are using NAV.

I have tried disabling NAV and the result is the same. Anyone else with a solution?

I checked the kb article 303177 - it refers to other HP printers - however I did check for any new drivers and soft ware but the problem persists. I tried to

un-install and re-install with no luck.  There are also articles about  the msvcrt file missing and how to fix that but mine isnt missing.

1047101 doesn't seem to be a valid KB article id number...

The document is FA1047101 - release date 01/17/02.  I dont know why it will not come up in the Microsoft  kb search box. I got the site after I typed "pip error msvcrt.dll" in the Dell search support box.  Also try http://support.dell.com/us/en/kb/document.asp?dn=1047101.

I see...it won't show up in MS's KB because it's a DELL KB article.  Glad to hear that your problem is fixed.
