After having this PC for just over a year I finally installed the OEM version of Microsofts Works Suite 2006 ,which includes Microsoft Word,Microsoft Works ,MS Digitial Image, MS Encarta,MS Money,MS Streets and Tips ! Well anyway untill the last couple of days I had no problem opening anyone of these apps and using them ,I have accessed Encarta ,Steets and Tips ,MS Word .However a couple of days ago I opened the actual Works Task luancher and after only a few miniutes on it when I would pick a task to switch to ,I would recieve the "MS Works has encoutered a problem and must shut down " then it ask do you want to send a resport to MS ,which I do everytime ,which I do not know what good that does me Microsoft never replies with a fix or anything after sending the report ? THis has happen to me the last two times I opened this application ,when I do Iam logged onto the internet ,have TV in a small screen on my desktop running, and a couple of other apps I have turned on ,a LCD Display RSS reader called a Pertelian X2040 and my Logitech G15 backlite keyboard which also has a small LCD dispaly that gives you system specs like CPU usage ,RAM usage,Time & Date etc. Iam curious if in the Add/Remove in the control panel if it offers a repair option ? I have all of the Microsoft Works updates updates installed and verified as installed properly via Bel-Arc Advisor (PC Magazine Freeware Utility) ? Anyone with any suggestions or having had a simular exprience with the Dell supplied bundle of MS Works 2006 I wouold greatly appreciate you sharing your exprience with me ,or offering a suggested fix ,hopefully not un-install and re-install ,since I feel doing this will really make it hard to install all of the hotfixes again via Microsoft Update ?
Thank You ,Happy Holidays
Nick
FYI> This install of Works is on a fresh re-install of the O/S due to a trojan that completely destroyed the originial from factory install ,would this cause me problems with Dell supplied software ,I have not yet used the Sonic CD burning software to burn a DVD or CD ?
