outlook won't display emails correctly...

Hello everyone,

I just finished installing MS office student teacher edition... However I am still experiencing the same problem with Outlook that I had with Outlook Express... The problem is that emails from dell or any other big company come through... but it is only text, and there are empty boxes where web graphics are obviously supposed to be... This is managable, but very obnoxious. I am using an free internet account that supports pop/smtp.  it can be found here: www.gawab.com.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you,

Alex

Jpegs and Gifs and other files can be PE droppers with viruses attached so it could be there is an email firewall stripping that stuff off.

However someone I know having similar problems even with hotmail got cleared up after installing the latest msn messenger and associated attachements.

Do that and create a hotmail free account and see if its the mail or its the service thats chopping the graphics. If they come thru hotmail ok but still dont on the other then the "supposed" free service is blocking attachments.

Many ISP's restrict those to 1 meg total including the message so a user sending huge
pictures from their 4 mega pixel camera is probably having the attachments blocked.

The security settings on internet explorer could also be blocking this.

The default settings protect you from opening this potentially damaging HTML content. To change the OL settings: Tools, Options, Security, Change auto download settings button, uncheck "Don't download html...etc." Leave "Warn Me.....etc." checked.
