problem with ms word margins...

I need help with Microsoft Word. When I make a new document, there are no margins on the top and bottom. When I compare this to a document that I open thats been saved in the past, there is the margin, and the ruler on the side has some blue representing the margin.

How can i get this back to normal? HELP! PLEASE! Thank you.

(Btw, Page Setup is exactly the same for margined and nonmargined documents)

Also, there is more gray on the top and bottom of the old documents. (In print Layout page view)

When you go to File>Page Setup does it show any margin settings in the top and bottom windows?  Mine has a 1-inch top and 1-inch bottom margin setting.

If you're using Word 2003, it sounds like you have the Hide White Space turned on . Go to Tools, Options, View tab and place a check in the White Space Between Pages.
