2200mp - image shadowing and motion issues
Hello all. I searched and did not see any posts which described my issues, so I'm starting a new thread. It these have been answered somewhere else I apoligize.
Anyway, I have 2200MP a little over a year old that I just bought used. I have noticed some image issues and wanted to see if any else has these and if there is somthing that can be done.
1 - imaging shadowing/ghosting
First, there is a shadow or ghosting of everything to the right by a couple pixels in size. It is really bad on computer vga input. Althought a little less noticable it is there also on still text/images on other video sources (composite/svideo). It's there on normal motion input like tv, but again it's hard to notice as much on moving images. Also, it may just be me, but it seems less prominent or not there on component output from my dvd player. However, on everything else it's pretty obvious.
Specifically with computer vga input I have tried many things:
- set computer resolution to 800x600
- tried various refresh rates (60,72,75) and matched rates in setup
- factory reset
- different computer (laptop/desktop)
- using dell provided cable, other cables of various lengths
2 - motion on video washes out or pixelates the image
When watching video from any source (component on dvd/composite from tv/s-video from dvd) motion causes images to "wash out" or pixelate. Its really noticable on faces. Anyway, let me try to describe it a little better. When looking at a persons face on screen it seems sharp and detailed. However, as the person moves, you notice a bad pixelation effect on the face as it moves. When the person stops moving, it's back to solid.
The odd thing about this issue is its more obvious sometime then others. For example, somtimes when I watch a dvd or some channels of tv it's not as prevelent, but other times it's really bad (again could be component from dvd, composite from vcr, etc...). This could possibly be attributed to differences in brightness or quality of different channels or dvds I suppose.
Anyway, I don't know if these issues are just the inherent quality of the projector or if it is defective since I have nothing to compare it to. So, if anyone could respond to let me know if this is just "the way it is" with these projectors, or if mine is most likely defective that would be awsome. Also, if there are suggestions about things I could try.
Unfortunetly if it is defective I'm sure it's going to cost as much as the projector is worth to get it fixed (as the defective part will most likely be the dlp/lcd chip). And if its not defective and is just the way they are, I'd have to say I'm disapointed in the quality of these projectors.
Man, I'd give anything there was a dell store I could go to and see a new projector to see if it is the way they all are or if it's just mine.
Also, if a dell employee in the forum could maybe give me an idea of what it would cost to repair it (assuming its defective) that would be very helpful as well.
Thanks for any input, sorry it's so long but I wanted to give a good description.

ive never seen that before.. im on my 4th projector now. i would try new cables. r u using all different connections on the back of the projector? or are they all feeding into one connection(i.e. M1, dvi, rgb, vga)? ive seen artifacting on tv and hdtv signals, normally with heavy movement. but thats because the cable company compresses the video feed. how big is your screen? do you have it hooked up to your computer? if so does it do the same thing?
i dont think its the progector itself its probably in the connection or cable. or else the OSD(on screen display) would ghost too.
