5100MP with component connection is tinted red
I have a new 5100 that is connected using DVI for a PC and Component Video for a DVD player. The dvi computer image looks fine, but the component video image is tinted red. I am using the RCA component connectors (labeled "15" in the owner's manual).
The DVD output connectors are labeled YPbPr and are colored red, green, and blue. I have connected the RGB cable to the same colored ports on the 5100. The Management > Signal Type on the OSD indicates that the projector thinks the signal is YCbCr. Is there some way to force the projector to use the signal as YPbPr?
As a test, I connected the DVD using the yellow RCA video connector and the image had normal color.
Thx, Mike

I can't tell you why it is happening but I have seen exactly what you are talking about while testing my 5100MP. If I run my cable box output (YPbPr) to the component inputs on the projector, it works fine. But if I convert the signal to RGB or BNC and then run it into the projector, the projector still thinks it is a component signal but it looks all red.
My original 5100MP with firmware v1.0 would pickup the converted RGB as a component signal and display it with the red tint. But it would also display correctly as RGB (as if it were truly two different signals you could select between). A newer replacement 5100MP they sent me for a different reason has firmware v1.4 and refuses to display the converted component signal as anything but component with the red tint. However, it still correctly displays the native component signal from my cable box when running it directly to the component inputs.
Have you tried checking your DVD player setup to see if the option to select between YPbPr and YCbCr video output is available?
