Well my friend, we appear to be experiencing the same problem.  I just bought a 2200MP with the laser remote to work with my laptop Inspiron and my powerpoint presentations.   The projector works just fine, but no matter what i try,  i cannot get the remote to work with the projector.   I know for sure that the remote is working, because it turns the projector on and the laser works.

Since your posting in this forum, (which i note that no one has responded to) have you had any success in getting the remote to work?  If so could you help me.

My other problem is that when i use the USB cable to connect, the projector is unable to find the laptop, and therefore there is no communication.   Do you have or have you had that problem as well?

Looking for answers and some help.

I never got this issue resolved with Dell.

After a very frustrating three months of going back and forth with Dell, I was able to return the projector for a refund. Note: I had this problem on a Dell Inspiron 8200 running Windows XP with Powerpoint 2003 and also on a Dell Latitude running Windows 2000 with Powerpoint 97. The projector did connect to both laptops, but when you pressed the Next button, your presentation would go all the way thru the slide presentation - I tried several different things with Dell technical support - new remote - same problem - new projector - same problem - software updates - same problem. A lot of time spent going back and forth with no resolution to the problem.

There were a couple of other individuals in this forum that had the same problem with no resolution.

It appears that most people buying this projector are using them for a Home Theater.

I am sorry, this is probably what you did not want to hear-but this was what I experienced.

Good luck.

Had the same issue with mine.  2 different projectors (both 2300mp's), 2 differnet computers (1 laptop, 1 desktop).....

Just got off of the phone will Dell Support and they basically threw the fault on a bad USB Driver and told me to go to microsoft's website and download the USB update patch KB822603.

I doubt this is it because the patch is for Windows XP SP1, and I am running Windows XP SP2 on both machines.

I'll test this out and post if it works, but that might be a while.  I'm gonna test this out for a week or two....

Anyone else have anyother solutions to this issue with powerpoint presentations and the dell projectors ???

i dunno..  we actually were able to return the projectors that we prchased from dell and get new ones of the same model.  the new ones that dell sent us had a different firmware number on them, so im assuming that they fixed the problem with those models..

I am having the very same problem with this projector.  I've tryed everthing suggested here, contacted technical support and customer support for this.  I don't know what Dell is doing by having their technical support provided from a different country but its insane.  I don't know about the rest of you but I cannot understand these people with their heavy accents.  That makes it very difficult to solve problems and issues.  I to have spent alot of my company's money on numerous systems and accesseroys and expect better customer support than this.  If Dell is trying to save money by going out of country for customer care I think their going to regret it.  Any way....I noticed that this model has been discontinued.  Does that mean Dell admits there mistake with this product?  Is the replacement model any better?

Frustrated
