Podium Coolpad (equivalent) to elevate projection trailing edge to improve air circulation
We have, so far, only two portable digital (computer) projectors that our AV team (student-run) moves from place to place on the campus as needed. These are on rolling projection carts that have non-slip rubber mats and metal "side-plank" surrounding rectangular top surface.
I am concerned about heat trapped underneath the projector, especially after this summer one legacy projector "cut off" repeatedly. My troubleshooting led me to believe that this was due to poor air circulation.
I believe this was confirmed because the projector now works fine after I cleaned the removable dust filter AND inserted beneath the trailing edge of the projector a strip of rigid packing foam at least one inch thick.
What I am searching is perhaps a more elegant solution and am thinking of the "
Mfg. Part: PA241U" Targus Podium Coolpad, which is actually designed for a laptop computer; however, it seem conceivable to me that this would also function to elevate the back edge of a portable digital projector.
Anyone else perceive this problem and have a solution you particularly like? I work to support technology at an institution of higher education. The new term(s) start(s) in August.
