Projector near a magnetic field
I have a 4100MP on its way. In reading the online manual and the FAQ here, I saw that it should not be used near a strong magnetic field.
I was wondering if anyone knows how strong "strong" is and how near "near" is. I am also wondering what type of damage or performance degradation magnetic fields would cause to this type of projector.
I would like to place the projector near my rear surrounds which have unshielded 5 1/2 inch woofers.
Can anyone give me a general idea of the minimum safe distances, for a setup like this?
Thanks

Anything electronic shouldn't be used in strong electric or magnetic field because these fields will directly or indirectly interfere with the electric charges responsible for normal operation. Other negative effects include unnecessary strain or misalignment of the components as well as "erasing" magnetic data. This is a physicist speaking.
After unsettling you with the triple cautions and class VI warnings, here is the pitch: put a TV or a non-LCD monitor where you want the projector and look for image distortion. If the distortion or discoloration is not perceptible, then the distance is fine. If you want to reassure yourself, move your woofers away another foot or two.
