Hi Anusha,
Oh! I see! If you are an EMC Employee, I reckon anything and everything is possible for you! I would not recommend any external Certification Track for VNX at the mo considering you are in pre sales and your job responsibilities. (I used to work for EMC). Rather, I would suggest you to go for USPEED. I reckon Cindy O'toole (forgive my typo Cindy in your last name if you are watching this space...if there is any) manages the USPEED programme. Alternatively, you can visit uspeed.corp.emc.com (If they have not changed the URL) and follow the instruction.
Why am I suggesting this?
1. USPEED has alot of documents to read from Basic to Expert. (Few very basic docs are not included but you can get it through Powerlink)
2. It will help you achieve not only the recognition as a USPEED GURU as well as clear and deeper understanding of the Product with more focus on Unified Storage Performance.
3. You can move internally, as a sizing engineer! (Part of Pre Sales I guess?)
If you do not wish to opt the above path well start with any Certification Path (Click on the link provided earlier select either Storage Administrator or Technology Architect or Implementation Engineer or Platform Engineer) whichever you more feel comfortable with!

Hi Ankit,
Thank you for your response.
I am employed and working on EMC.Presales( quoting team). So I have basic knowledge about the most of the products of EMC n I have more interest on VNX.
Now to become storage administrator could u please advice me which certifications is needed as I am a fresher. Do I need to do certification related to SAN ,NAS and VNX or VNX is enough. Please name the certification code also if possible.

Hi Anusha,
The answer you are seeking totally depends on your choice! There are different-different paths available to pursue via https://education.emc.com/guest/certification/framework/default.aspx i.e. Data Center Architect, Cloud Architect, Storage Administrator, Technology Architect, Implementation Engineer, Platform Engineer, Application Developer, System Administrator, Systems Architect etc.which is further more classified by the Product Families like EMC CLARiiON, VNX, Symmetrix, Isilon etc.
If you are a fresher and unemployed, I would rather suggest you to understand SAN Infrastructure and learn Virtualization before going for a SAN Product Specialization. Reason being, you never know which product you end up working on when you are employed! My advice will be to go for VMware Certified Professional 5 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV) for now, if you are unemployed.
If you are already employed and working on EMC Solution then I reckon your first choice should be to get certified on the product you are working with on a day to day basis.
If you are unemployed and do not wish to go for virtualization right now, well I can suggest to go for VNX Certification as it being a midrange product which offers both file and block level. Which Path?! Thats something you need to decide...generally, I would recommend Storage Administrator path for a fresher.
I hope, this helps! Good Luck!

Hi Anusha,
If you are an employee, the best thing to do is to talk to your supervisor about what learning path and certifications are most appropriate. Your supervisor will take into account your role, and what knowledge is most relevant to it.
